Bree tells him the least they can is try to keep up appearances, and Rex, rather sarcastically, tells her he keeps forgetting about 'appearances'. Rex tells her they can ask because he doesn't care anymore, and Bree lets him know that she does care, as she removes the pillow from under his head. Rex tells her it's not even light out, and Bree turns on a lamp, and then proceeds to remove the cover from him, telling him to hurry because if the kids see him down there they'll start asking questions. Bree whispers his name and taps him, which wakes him up. Shortly afterwards, she is seen coming down the stairs into the living room, where Rex is sleeping on the folded out sofa. And for a woman who despised loose ends, that was unacceptable.īree checks the clock on her nightstand and then gets out of bed. Jazz is a good deal taller than Origin Bee, which makes sense. Here's also some comparisons with Origin Bee and SS86 Jazz. Here's a size comparison with Kingdom Sideswipe, Legacy Kickback, and Legacy Bulkhead. His blaster can fit into any of his 5mm ports, and his connector (or just nozzle) can be attached to the gun via its 3mm peg. Thigh swivel, a decent knee bend that doesn't quite reach 90 degrees, a really good ankle tilt, and a toe bend downward. Standard waist swivel, and legs that go up and down and to the sides. There's a bicep swivel, a 90 degree elbow, and if you unpeg the hands, you get an inward curl, but it's more for transformation. The arms are on slight butterfly joints, and the shoulders can swivel and hinge up and down. The head is on a ball-joint, and can tilt from side to side as well as look up and down, as well as swivel. Only one part is clear plastic, which does have to flex a bit for transformation, but for now I think it's fairly sturdy. Not a deal-breaker, but just letting you know. The back kibble, however, is far more egregious. Only changes are the visor is a darker blue, and the mouth is more pronounced. The head sculpt is fairly similar to the SS86 figure, which I'm fine with. This includes the back, so if you want to get some CW Rook shenanigans going, then go right ahead. He has 5mm ports on his shoulders, the tops of his feet (useful for vehicle mode, as well as getting his feet out for transformation), his bottom of his feet, his back, and of course, his fists are 5mm as well. Paint apps are small but distributed well. He's molded in black and white plastic, with some gray plastic as well. Finally, flip the head around, and Jazz is complete.Īside from some slight perspective changes, Jazz looks fairly similar to his SS86 figure design-wise. Now unpeg the connector + nozzle attachment from the 5mm peg (not required for transformation back, but it is weapon storage), and then fold the chest down. Hinge the arms back, fold out the hands (they should snap into place), and then orient them correctly. Fold the clear part up so it covers the back, and then fold the vehicle kibble back. Now move the front of the vehicle backwards (with the feet oriented towards the ground). Open up the leg kibble, fold in the doors, close the leg kibble, and then unfold the feet. Alternatively, you can move the legs back a little, split them, and then pull the legs out all the way separately to make it easier. Move the back of the vehicle backwards (like Kingdom Cyclonus/Legacy Metalhawk's rear), and then split the back of the vehicle to make the legs. Unpeg the side doors (easiest if you move the cabin forward), and then unpeg the back of the vehicle. To transform Jazz, first unclip the arms from the sides of the inside of the doors. Here's some size comparisons, with SS Core Laserbeak, Selects Deep Cover, Armada Starscream, and Studio Series Sludge. The connector can be used, but it can also be stored in a secret place during transformation. The blaster fits on the top of the vehicle mode, through either of 2 5mm pegs. The vehicle mode itself looks very smooth, and is very chunky and fun to hold. Starting off in the vehicle mode, Jazz's Cybertronian mode looks fairly accurate to the original cartoon, minus slightly wider side windows. Speaking of which, here are the accessories: a blaster, and an attachment to the blaster, which can split into 2 parts: a nozzle, and a connector. Figure's joints were nice and tight once out of the package. Pretty interesting design choice, I'm personally a fan of it. The tissue with the accessories is inside as well. Instead, the cardboard inside folds around the figure, with that and the holes for the backpack and leg kibble allowing Jazz to stay in nice and snug. Interestingly, the inside doesn't have Jazz tied in any way by any bands of any sort. The box art is fairly similar to the recent Legacy boxes that Buzzworthy has, though with more cardboard on the front per how Legacy Evolution is being packaged. So will he live up to the precedent set up by Origin Bee? While he's gotten his WFC due with the SS86 figure, he has also recently gotten a Buzzworthy figure, which is the first time he's officially been portrayed in his Cybertronian form in toy form (no, the High-Moon figure, that's a different continuity). Jazz is one of the iconic G1 Autobots, being present since the very first episode of the G1 cartoon, and even living through the movie (though granted, VA issues prevented him from appearing more past that.) As such, he's appeared constantly throughout the years, getting his occasional share of toys. The recently released Origin Autobot Jazz just appeared in my neck of the woods, so I was able to snatch him pretty quickly, all things considered (though he was marked up at $30.) Setting īattleTech shares a setting with the original board game, now called Classic BattleTech. In addition to choosing hardware, the player can also specialize the mech's pilots (called "mechwarriors") by selecting talents from a skill tree. The player selects each mech's chassis, the weapons and armor mounted on that chassis, as well as smaller details such as actuators and gyros that influence a mech's turning radius. The developers state that the game will have the spirit of the board game but will not use the board game's rules. Players assume the role of a mercenary commander leading a " mech lance", or group of four giant humanoid-shaped combat vehicles. The game shares a setting with the board game that launched the BattleTech franchise, Classic BattleTech, and many members of the development team have worked on previous games in the franchise. The world of BattleTech is dominated by powerful noble houses locked in a devastating war, and the player selects one or more houses to serve. The player is responsible for selecting each mech's model, armor, pilot, armaments, and skills, and controls a team of four mechs (a 'lance') in combat. In the game, the player assumes the role of a mercenary commander leading a team of powerful combat vehicles called battlemechs. The developers set aside US$1 million to create the game, and turned to Kickstarter to secure funding for additional features, including a single player campaign, an expansion of that campaign, and a player versus player multiplayer mode. It was released on macOS and Windows on April 24, 2018, with a Linux release on November 27, 2018. So of course I thought, “How can I make money online so I can travel whenever and wherever I want?” Like any free-spirited, early-20-something, that was my dream. I was scrolling through Pinterest when I came across an article on how some woman had made a full-time income working online while traveling the world. That’s just not the way it is in any desktop-caliber app, as your cursor defaults to the text you’re editing. While Notes and Word recognized that I was in the body previously, Docs made me click into the document each time, even if my cursor was blinking on screen. While I know Google and Apple have beef, Google should get its act together for the sake of people forced to use GDocs by their employers.Īlso, moving between all of these apps, I noticed far too often that I had to click in the body of a document before my typing cursor was actually in the document I was editing - which got annoying fast. Docs often moves your selection up when you’re clicking down, and so on and so forth. Also, try selecting text by holding shift and moving the arrow keys. That’s been supported by third-party apps since Apple first added keyboard support. Google Docs, though, is the biggest problem child: it doesn’t even show keyboard shortcuts when you hold the Command button. Of course, Apple’s own apps are optimized for the Magic Keyboard, as they were for the Smart Keyboard Cover, but have other major word processors caught up? Well, Word and Google Docs both haven’t optimized for Apple’s smarter cursor, that snaps to objects and adjusts from a dot to a cursor when you move to a text field. iPad Pro Magic Keyboard: App compatibility When everything can be done through the keyboard and touchpad - simply tapping on typos with the touchpad and then tapping on the suggested correction - writing and other productivity tasks feel more effortless. Sure, I could just lift my fingers off the keyboard and nudge it up myself and then tap the screen to pick an app, but that’s just taking away from the potential power of the touchpad. As it stands now, you have to do the slightly backwards method of hitting Command+Space and searching in Spotlight, and then clicking and dragging an app to either side of the screen. This would make it a lot easier to split my screen between two apps. I’m hoping Apple finds a way to implement a touchpad gesture for opening the dock on the bottom of the screen. Lastly, the three fingers horizontal swiping to move between open apps is one of those finally adjustments. Also, the three-finger swipe-up gesture is a neat way to either go to the home screen if you flick those fingers up, or to see the different app work spaces if you move your fingers more slowly. Sure, I could just lift my fingers off the keyboard and nudge it up myself and then tap the screen to pick an app, but that’s just taking away from the potential power of the touchpad.Īs I swiped two fingers up and down the touchpad, I saw that Apple, again, is delivering super-smooth scrolling. Yes, there’s no fake feedback using haptics here. Oh, and I need to say ‘click’ one more time, as the Magic Keyboard touchpad gives you something that Apple’s MacBook touchpad don’t: a real click. Sure, it’s a little on the small side, but as someone who’s tested a bunch of PC laptops, I’m completely positive about Apple’s implementation, as it’s all clickable, rather than just the bottom half that some see-saw touchpads let you click. The Magic Keyboard’s biggest feature is the 3.9 x 1.8-inch touchpad that answers the prayers of many who want Apple to make the iPad more like a laptop. Yes, this keyboard deck is so slight that even though my hands aren’t extremely large, my wrists come nowhere close to the deck of the keyboard.
